What’s up Sorry State readers?!? My pick for this week is the mighty… and I do mean MIGHTY, Shaved Ape’s Loveletter to Hardcore. My god, does this record make me wanna take a hammer and smash everything I can get my hands on. The A side consists of five new perfect blistering fast hardcore songs that will make your knees weak and your thoughts mean, followed by the absolutely phenomenal tape from a few years ago on the B side. The cover art is stunning with the sick ass picture of Riky Barnes ripping it the fuck up putting those tire tubes to some good use. Vince is a fucking animal. Hardcore rules, go buy this, nuff said…. Peace.

What’s up sorry state readers!?! My pick for this week is the mighty Cross: Human Spirit12” from New York, out on Roachleg records. Goddamn, does this record absolutely smoke. I’m an absolute sucker for anything that gives even a slight hit of the ripping fast sound that Out Cold gave us, so this is right up my alley. Each hit on the snare on this LP sounds like gunshots going off… love it. Go pick this up and get your speed fix on and run headfirst into a brick wall!!! While you’re at it pick up the other new Roachleg release, Pura Manía: La Banda Es La Ley. This record is killer and looks cool as hell. You definitely want it. Thanks for reading, till next time!

What’s up sorry state readers!?! For this week’s staff pick, I have this absolute heater…. thank got the wait is finally over! Mecht Mensch’s Anthology 12”! Been looking forward to this since I heard the news about No Coast doing this. Mecht Mensch is easily a top 5 80s USHC band for me. You get everything you need from them on this killer slab! Go snag this and Final Conflict’s In the Family 7” reissue on Havoc so you can have a full-on Midwest slam party in your living room! Thanks for reading!!

What’s up sorry state readers?! Back it again with another pick for y’all! This week it’s Ultra Violence’s We Hate You 12” on Radio Raheem. This long-lost LP recording is absolutely insane and just what I needed to hear. Continuing their sound, but with some slightly faster songs than their tracks on the Big City comps. It’s the raw, Urban Waste-sounding recordings that I absolutely love. As always, radio Raheem absolutely kills it with beefing up all their releases with so much sick stuff to dig thru upon opening… this includes a 28-page booklet filled with fliers and photos that you can drool at while playing this at max volume with your ear glued to the speaker… go snag a copy of this asap and if you haven’t, go listen to ALL the Big City comps. I just moved back to Raleigh after 10ish years or so, and I found myself lucky enough to have joined the Sorry State team! My pick for this week is Unidad Ideológica: Choque Asimétrico. Man…. This record absolutely RIPS front to back. Choque Asimétrico is a follow-up to their last s/t LP that also should be played at full volume, waking up your entire neighborhood. The recording on Choque Asimétricois a bit more raw and heavier than the first LP, but still sticks to playing raw and fast as fuck… I love it and could talk about this record for hours!
