Red Hex: Shoulda Known 7

Killer, blown-out garage-punk from Tacoma, Washington. These guys have the wild, fuzzed-out sound of Sonics-influenced bands, but the songwriting doesn't have that blues influence that turns me off to a lot of bands who favor the ultra-fuzzed-out guitar. Instead, Red Hex favors slight surprising but still catchy riffs that kind of remind me of Drive Like Jehu (with the slight 90s noise-rock inflections that implies), but much more raw and straightforward... it's sort of like thinking-man's garage for the Goner Records crowd. Three tracks, all bangers, and cool artwork to boot. Negative Fun Records
