This is the second EP from this Richmond home-recording duo, the first of which was a digital-only release. It features three songs equally indebted to indie acts like Smog and Will Oldham and 90s lo-fi rockers like Duster and Stina Nordenstam. It hits that sweet spot between lush production and stripped-down songwriting, especially the first two tracks. The last song, “Red Pine,” is drenched in reverb and sits closer to late-era Talk Talk or the Tortoise extended family. Recorded and mixed by recording engineer Ricky Olson.
