Bloody Gears: Landscapes of Disease 12

Following their preview single on Grave Mistake, here's the debut full-length from Boston's Bloody Gears. Playing an intricate style of hardcore-informed post-punk, Bloody Gears remind me quite a lot of their city-mates the Proletariat, though the songwriting here is a lot catchier and more memorable than just about anything that band produced (save, perhaps, their contributions to This Is Boston Not LA). It's taken the band several years to craft the 8 songs on Landscapes of Disease and the work definitely shows... not only are the songs themselves brilliant, but the sequencing is well-considered and powerful. This is definitely one of those albums that feels like one huge composition, which is definitely want I want from this kind of dark post-punk.
