Originally issued on Touch And Go Records in 1998, the raw and hypnotic Terraform is the the second full-length release by respected producer/engineer/bassist Bob Weston (Volcano Suns), drummer Todd Trainer (Brick Layer Cake, Rifle Sport), and producer/engineer/guitarist extraordinaire Steve Albini (Big Black, Rapeman ) as minimalist rock trio Shellac. Less noisy than the band's debut, the ever economic Terraform was recorded throughout 1995 and 1996 in Chicago, IL with a final session at EMI's Abbey Road Studio 2 in December 1996. Audio quality is paramount, as always, with Shellac, and Terraform was recorded electrically, and features no overdubs, no guest appearances and no tiny cymbals that go "pish."
