This year Black Friday falls on November 29, and as usual Sorry State will be shamelessly clamoring for your holiday dollars. We'll continue to update this page as our plans come together, but let's start with the list of Record Store Day Black Friday exclusive titles we'll be getting!

Note that we backed off a little on our order of Record Store Day exclusives this year. While we have the titles that fit our punk / hardcore niche (Avengers, Crime, Pylon, Gun Club, Devo, Venom, Paul Westerberg, etc.) and ones that we expect to be hot-ticket items (Pearl Jam, Phish, Lizzo, Jimi Hendrix, Cardi B, Jerry Garcia, U2) in larger quantities, we only have one or two copies of a lot of these titles.

Also, please note that normal Record Store Day rules apply. In other words, unfortunately we cannot hold any of these titles for you. Any remaining stock will go live on our webstore at 8AM on Saturday, November 30.

   For our in-store customers, everything in the store that’s been here more than 2 months will be 10% off all weekend! If you’re wondering what’s on sale, just look at the number under the barcode on the item’s price sticker. If the first three numbers are NOT 191, the item will receive the 10% discount when we ring it up.

   For our webstore customers, you’ll also get 10% off anything that’s been in the shop for more than 2 months. You should see those price go live on the webstore starting at 12:01am eastern US time Wednesday night / Thursday morning.

   We’re also giving our webstore customers an opportunity for even bigger savings on large orders.

   If you spend at least $150 and check out using the discount code BLACKFRIDAY2019, you’ll receive an additional 10% off everything in your order (excluding Record Store Day Black Friday exclusives). Yes, that includes new arrivals and, yes, that’s in addition to the existing 10% discount on old stock!

   These discount codes can only be used between noon eastern US time on November 28 and 11:59pm eastern US time on December 2. You’ll also see the prices on older stock return to normal after 11:59pm on December 2.
