As one of the most progressive and influential bands in independent music, Snapcase's dedication to combining intellectual theory with aggressive music became the foundation of their career.
Since their inception in 1991 Snapcase consistently evolved, as opposed to sticking to a fixed musical formula. Their focus was always to prioritize artistic integrity and they were always one step ahead of the bandwagon as a result. Snapcase's success was measured not by superstar, breakout sales or contrived radio singles but by the fact that each subsequent album sold more than its predecessor.
Throughout Snapcase's pragmatic career they were revered as one of the most innovative, intelligent and undeniably inspirational bands. From their first release on Victory, a 7" single titled "Comatose" (1991), to the scene transforming Lookinglasself (1993) to the revolutionary Progression Through Unlearning (1997) they continually altered the direction of underground music.
