G.I.S.M., the most important band in the history of Japanese hardcore.
As a starting point, the odd-shaped video work "Performance" has been revived as a DVD after about 40 years of silence.
Punk Magazine POW (PUNK ON WAVE) release commemorative live held at Nakano Sunplaza on May 30, 1985.
This work, which recorded that night, is not just a live video.
By the hands of Yokoyama SAKEVI, the frontman,
Real images of the Vietnam War are collaged, and violence and reality, sound and thought are forcibly connected.
Recorded with 3 8mm cameras, vivid sound sources with 6mm open reels.
The "air" of that era, which filled the venue with a capacity of 1000 people, is contained as it is.
This is not an archive.
It's the recorded "incident" itself.
Directed by G.I.S.M.'s official video, "If it's just a little rain, I'll be patient," "I'm confused even on wonderful days," and Junji Yasuda of "Punks Blue Age." Works shot live with three 8mm film cameras at a venue with more than 1,000 people are unprecedented. This time, the 8mm film and the 6mm open reel recorded by Tam, who was a guitarist of Stalin, were recorded as a digital remaster. After playing the ring, Yasuda was re-edited, and the film particles, scratches, and live-like sound showed the freshness of the G.I.S.M.
Yokoyama SAKEVI reminiscent of Muslim terrorists, Randy Uchida of heavy metal fashion, HIROSHIMA playing drums with the Vietnam War footage and choirs reflected at the venue, and KANNON on bass. It reflects the overwhelming view of the world and the tension that can only be produced by the G.I.S.M.
Following the DVD "Retsuha Destroyer Ruinings Rush 911", which was released in 2024 and recorded the number one on the Oricon charts, this work will be released at the same time worldwide.
