What’s new folks? Another week, another what am I listening to?! Not much to ramble about here today. I have kind of fallen off again listening to records, but I have been going back to some goodies that have been pushed to the back of my shelves for a while now. Give was a Fugazi-bred melodic hardcore band from Washington D.C. that developed deep roots from coming up in the Dischord-era scene and following the “flower power” hardcore hippy ethos. Sounding very much like something out of the 90s grunge scene mixed with that DC sound with positive hippy-esque lyrics, this band was right up my alley. Putting out a few singles on a few different labels in the mid-2000s and then a compilation album, then finally a full-length in 2015. After disbanding, members went on to be in some more really great bands like Praise, Innumerable Forms, Truth Cult and Title Fight. Check them out. It is really different and really really good hardcore music.
