Ward No. 6: demo cassette
Driving yet catchy, punk-informed noise rock... equal parts Wipers, Big Black, and Bauhaus.

Our take: Very cool demo from this mysterious little band I don't know much about. Falling on the catchier end of noise rock, if you're a fan of those Worse tape out of NYC that came out last month there's a pretty good chance that you'll like this as well, as Ward No. 6 have a similar knack for combining the heaviness of noise rock with Wipers-by-way-of-Nirvana hooks. I could see this sounding very 90s if it had clearer, more professional production, but the reverb-drenched, home-recorded sound on this kind of makes it sound mysterious like some weird post-punk from mid-80s Europe or something.
