Subject #2 zine
Latest issue of this excellent New York zine whose first issue was one of the first to champion the almighty Brain FäŠæ. They display similarly discerning taste this time around, including interviews with GG King, Foreign Objects, B-Lines and Mallwalkers. The zine is pretty much just those interviews with no prefaces, columns, reviews, etc., but the interviews are thoughtful, really well-done, and particularly interesting if you're into the bands. If you want a dissertation on punk music you might be better off with Accept the Darkness or More Noize, but Subject is a nice throwback to a time when doing a zine just meant liking good bands and thinking intelligent thoughts about the music they make without trying to get too deep or intellectual.
