Rough Kids: Into the 00's 7"

HOLY s***! 2nd 7" from this new-ish LA band and I am completely BLOWN AWAY. These guys have an utterly unique sound, sitting somewhere between classic '77 punk, the US stuff it inspired (i.e. Zero Boys, Toxic Reasons), and modern, noisy DIY hardcore (mostly in the production, which exhibits a gratuitous disregard for treble). Only two songs here, but they are both potential classics, with the a-side hitting that Zero Boys sweet spot and the b-side getting a little more atmospheric and giving off a slight Observers-type vibe. I am going to be flipping this one relentlessly in the coming weeks, and I advise you to pick one up because you'll probably feel the same way. Highly recommended! Rough Records
