Ringworm: The Promise 12" (orange vinyl)

A389 Records

Brand new reissue of the 1993 album by this classic Cleveland hardcore / metal band, thankfully restoring the original apocalyptic artwork (the most recent reissue on Deathwish looked a bit to Converge / Hydrahead for my tastes). Like their contemporaries in Integrity, Ringworm fused the hardcore sounds of bands like the Cro-Mags and Madball with the added heaviness and more technical musicianship of later-era thrash metal and early death metal bands. Death metal riffs with hardcore mosh breaks? It was and is a potent combination, and there are few albums that do it as well as this one. A389 Records
