Redd Kross: Born Innocent 12"

Frontier Records

Debut album from this classic SoCal band. This is a great record, and I hate that it sometimes seems to fall through the cracks. I think Redd Kross have 2 things working against them: 1, they were VERY young when they recorded this album, so I think some people write them off as a kind of novelty. 2, they later went on to some prominence as a sort of indie / neo-psych band, which sometimes seems to overshadow the band's roots in feral punk. This record came from the same scene (and some of the same members!) as the early stuff by Black Flag, Circle Jerks, Adolescents, etc., and if you like those records and you don't own this, pick it up and prepare for quite a treat.
