Miscalculations: S/T 12"
Debut 12" from this London punk band featuring former members of the Gaggers. I always thought of the Gaggers as a straight up '77-style punk band, but Miscalculations have a little more going on. There's an obvious Spits influence at work here with the simple, driving keyboard parts, and the comparatively thing guitar sound is much more Pink Flag than Never Mind the Bollocks. Of course the high-pitched melodic vocals that recall everything from the Adverts to Jay Reatard are what really sell this, but all in all this is a solid straight-up '77 punk / new wave LP.
