Holder's Scar: Public Acid Cassette

Self-Released

New cassette from this Greensboro power house!

Our take: Latest cassette from this hardcore band out of Greensboro, North Carolina featuring members of all of the other great bands out of Greensboro you've heard over the past few years. Holder's Scar are one of the longest-running of those bands, and they've evolved quite a bit over the past few years. In particular, since Tyler from Menthol and Bad Eric started playing guitar for them they've gotten a lot faster and this kind of bouncy, catchy rhythm has started to emerge. It's something that's really hard to describe, but it's very particular to Holder's Scar... I mean, the riffs are still fast and hard in the vein of Poison Idea or something like that, but the rhythms are kind of like an Asta Kask record on 45RPM instead of 33. Maybe I'm tripping, but that's what I hear at least, and it makes Holder's Scar way, way catchier and more fun than your average hardcore band. Add in some blistering, raw-but-not-too-raw, in your face production and you have three minutes well-spent.
