Guilt Lust: S/T 12"
Killer, highly underrated LP from this Western Massachusetts band that featured the former vocalist of Last in Line. This one is a ripper, combining the propulsive aggression of LP-era Negative Approach with a bit more ambition and complexity in the songwriting. One review I came across compared this to a mix of Negative Approach and Revolution Summer-era bands, and I definitely hear that... the rhythm section seems like they're convinced they're in a straight-up HC band, while the guitarist drops in all these kind of melodic riffs and delicate little leads that add a ton of texture to the music. If you dig Swiz, early Soulside, and the more HC-influenced Revolution Summer bands you'll fall for this immediately. Fun with Smack Records
