Give: Singles Going Confetti 12

Compilation of the first five singles by this Washington, DC band, with an exclusive new track thrown in for good measure. When Give first came out people (I was probably one of them) made a big deal about them being influenced by the Revolution Summer era of DC punk, but listening to these songs now, they sound a lot harder and more straightforward than the more delicate, Rites of Spring-type references that the Revolution Summer tag brings to my mind. The band that Give remind me most of is Swiz, with their complex yet aggressive take on punk. Still, there's more going on here than simple worship of a band or even a style. Deranged Records
