Fury: Live On KXLU 7"

Triple B Records

Fury has become a staple in the Southern California hardcore scene, playing locally and touring the country several times over, bringing their high-energy live show to the hardcore masses. Their debut 7" on Triple-B records has been heralded as a rebirth of Southern California hardcore and has cemented its reputation as a modern classic in a short amount of time. The band entered the world famous KXLU studios and has recorded an excellent live set. For those of you who haven't seen Fury live, this recording is a testament to the power the band possesses. The uncontrollable energy and chaotic atmosphere is captured so well that it's easy to see why Fury has become a household name in hardcore today. Limited edition of 500 copies.

Our take: Live on the radio set from this new-ish California straight edge band... I mean, if NYHC bands like Beyond and Breakdown could do legendary live-on-the-radio sets then why not Fury, right? I must admit, there is something charming about these live on the radio sets... hearing a band with enough fidelity that you can hear everything that's going on, but without any frills like double-tracked guitars and vocals. Fury's slightly melodic take on straight edge hardcore--which reminds me a bit of Give or older bands like Swiz--suits this type of recording well, and I'm sure there will be plenty of fury bands who prefer this rougher sound to the more polished production on their proper records.
