Cassette release from this new d-beat band out of Portland

Our take: Cassette release from this hardcore band out of Portland. You can probably tell from the aesthetic of the layout that this is heavily informed by crust, but this isn't by the numbers by any means... the riffing in particular has a surprising amount of depth and catchiness. The guitar playing definitely has a metallic edge, reminding me quite a bit of the guitarist from Sacrilege, or perhaps even Axegrinder here and there, but while there's a metallic edge it never dips into full-bore metal, especially given that the rhythm section's foundation is in full-bore, Cimex-style hardcore. While the overall aesthetic is definitely crusty, those metal elements and some clear influence from USHC keeps this from sounding like just another crust band. In that respect they also remind me quite a bit of SkemÌ_ta, though the vocals aren't nearly as over the top. A real rager... I hope we hear more from this band soon.
