Cock Sparrer: Running Riot in '84 / Live & Loud 2x12"

Pirate's Press Records

$21.00

I'm not really sure of the reasoning behind this reissue, but it's gorgeous and the music is uniformly awesome, so I'm just going to go with it. Not so much a double LP, as two different reissues (they each have individual jackets) repressed on 180-gram color vinyl and held together with a gorgeous obi strip. Live and Loud was originally on Link Records and like the other Live and Loud releases on Link, the sound is absolutely perfect... capturing the power and rawness of the live performance with optimum, studio-level fidelity. And, of course, the track listing reads like a Greatest Hits album. As for Running Riot in '84, this was the band's second album, the follow-up to the almighty Shock Troops and picks up right where that classic left off. While Shock Troops always struck me as as much glam or pub rock as punk, Running Riot actually sounds a bit more like a straightforward oi! record, and the songwriting is right there with Shock Troops. An absolutely gorgeous package befitting this classic band. Pirate's Press Records
