Chroma: demo cassette
From the ladies who brought you Rakta, Las Otras and Siega, Chroma is dark, driving and abrasive punk. They are coming out to the west coast from Barcelona in February for a west coast tour and for the MRR fest.

Our take: Demo cassette from this band from Barcelona featuring members of Las Otras, Rakta, Invisibles, Siega and others. Apparently this band's debut LP just came out on a US label (we have copies on the way as I write this!), and I expect them to be huge because this demo is killer. Falling in this sweet little spot right between post-punk and aggressive hardcore, the most obvious reference points for Chroma, to me, seem to be Spanish legends Ultimo Resorte. However, there's a lot of stuff going on. There's a lot of Rakta's brooding vibe here, but injected with a dose of high-energy and catchy punk. If you're a big fan of that La Misma LP on Toxic State I would also highly recommend you check out Chroma, but they're a bit darker, with as much influence from bands like Siouxsie and the Banshees and Killing Joke as more traditional punk and anarcho. Needless to say, this is essential listening right here.
