Trading Places present a reissue of The Knights' self-titled album, originally released as a promo-only album in 1967. The unlikely setting of The Knights was Northfield Hermon Preparatory School in northwest Massachusetts, where students formed a resident band that recorded a series of albums from the late 1950s, up to 1968. The self-titled album recorded at Boston's Ace Recording Studios in 1967 is a cult classic of multi-genre cover tunes, including sensitive renditions of Sam Cooke's "Bring It On Home" and The Drifters' "Up On The Roof," a rocking take of The Spencer Davis Group's "Give Me Some Loving" and an agreeable pass of Ben E. King's "Stand By Me". There is rhythm and blues, heart-drenched ballads, soul, and garage rock too. Keyboardist Brad Waterman, drummer Marc Solomon, and saxophonist Bill Douvris were all longstanding group members and this self-titled issue their rarest release. Licensed by Flash.
