Demo on a 1-sided 12" from this Gainesville d-beat band. Raw and crushing with some blazing lead guitar... a very strong debut, strongly recommended for fans of Framtid, Pollen, Paranoid, and the like. Limited to 200 copies so don't sleep!

Our take: Demo-on-vinyl from this band out of Gainesville, Florida, and you could probably guess from the aesthetic that we're in the d-beat realm. Stylistically, this comes across to me like a mix between the styles of the two Anti-Cimex 7"s, incorporating the looser and wilder playing of Raped Ass with the quote unquote "better" production of Victims of a Bomb Raid. The vocals are double-tracked in a very Realities of War-esque way, and there are a ton of blistering, noisy guitar solos that also bring to mind Anti-Cimex's most thrilling moments. Despite the fact that I've already referenced two well-known standards of d-beat, this doesn't strike me as particularly contrived or the kind of cut-and-paste exercise that a lot of modern d-beat bands engage in. Rather, it's that the genre's fans are probably well aware of its history and any modern release that hews so closely to this style is practically asking to be contextualized in this manner. Basically, this is raw and raging d-beat, up there with the best Japanese bands in terms of power and clarity of vision. The only catch is that it's limited to only 200 copies, so if you're interested I'd encourage you to hop on it right away.
